Robbie Bach predicts 50% of Xbox 360 owners will use Live

In a recent interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, Microsoft executive Robbie Bach forecast that 50% of Xbox 360 owners would use the Xbox Live online service.

The user base for the current Xbox Live service stands at around 2 million subscribers - roughly 10% of all Xbox console owners. However, Bach believes including the free Xbox Live Silver subscription for next generation console owners will greatly increase this number.

The Silver subscription won’t allow gamers to play online, though - they’ll have to upgrade to a Gold or Premium Gold subscription in order to experience Xbox Live online gaming. Silver subscribers will be able to watch online gaming and browse the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Which Xbox Live subscription will you be purchasing? Have your say in our poll!
