Well maybe it's just me, but it sure seems funny how much the 360 is the same as a modded box just a thought! M$, "hey look at what my kid got it has apps , download content, and this thing called XBMC! Maybe we could put somthing together like this, we'll call Xbox 360 that sounds great then well have a shortedge and make a hell of alot of money "mirco$" thats what well call it!" So i say to all of u who think modding is wrong well just burn your 360 now cause thats what it is a faster runing modded xbox way to go mr. gates good job on someone elses work.

With extreme sarcasm to note this is a huge upset. Put it this way, not being able to hack it and improve it is just like patenting the wheel. If we weren't allowed ("able" in this case) to improve on the idea then we are stuck with what we can only ever *think* is good, improving means we can be able to get a hold of what IS BEST for us all, why do you think free, open source software is usually 30x better than their commercial,off the shelf equivalents?. I know all you guys might think Ahh this guy is some loser who abiddes by the ways of PS3 well it's just as lame. This is only my opinion.

Most of you are acting as if this is a good thing or is just some dumb instance to be totally disregarded..... Imagine if the hacker was to Change the configuration of his xbox so that it was able to obtain other peoples information by becoming its own server.... having other users connect to it and transmit their data to the hackers....allowing him to retrieve their cc information.... repeated instances could easily lead to a temoporary or permanent shutdown of Xbox live.... We could easily lose our ability to pursue online gaming.... The only safe choice would be buying the subscription cards if an instance like that were to ever occur.

The only reason to buy one is to hack it and make it a server or media center. It is cheaper for the consumer, like me to invest my money on something that was designed with hidden potentials. Microsoft knows this, keep up the good work so we can improve your products Mr. Gates. Microsoft loves hackers, they get most of their good ideas from reverse engineers. Stop posting news that gives these people a bad name, they are smarter then you. Go after the "thugs" that steal your credit cards and give you that great spyware you all love. Better yet go after the gas companies that steal our money if your so worried about losses. Pointless article.

ha, i seriously doubt that a hack xbox cant be on xbox online. besides think for a second, if the xb360 IS so complex as M$ says it is, then hackers could hack from within a game easy, what you just said suggests that M$ was jacking us around with telling us is was so powerful. the xb360 should be like any other comp, you can hack or be hacked thru it. imo, i think M$ deserved this, its jus the kinda set back Old Billy neds to allow him to see that some of us gamers dont want him here in the gaming world, he alrewady has a monopoly over the comp industry, since EVERY COMPUTER MAKER uses M$'s OS's in their systems. I seriously hope this drives him outa the gaming (console gaming) bussiness. as i have heard some ppl say, and alot of my firends have said this so im quoting them, they all think and believe that the "xbox is a bastard child of the playstation 2 and gamecube" and that is half fact. this is a big plus to all xbox haters out there, because not only will the xb360 suffer, but so will the company, if some ppl get their cc#'s or shit stolen, they'll blame it on MS, as for sony or nintendo being involved, i highly doubt it, its most likely Me$/xbox haters.

What color crack are you guys on? The whole idea behind hacking an xbox or an xbox-360 is to improve it's performance and enhance features. Xbox hackers aren't out there like the idgits who are releasing psp viruses to brick your console. Have you ever heard of a rash of virii for the Xbox? Nope. Furthermore, we have already seen that a hacked xbox system will not work with Live so why the hell would Micro$haft even bother crying about Live being attacked. The most anyone might have cared about was paying for Xbox Live, now they give us Live for free. Stupid, stupid narrow-minded little people determined to be content with whatever someone gives you! Realize that this is just another form of the dumbing down of America.
