Further details on Origen Xbox 360

Many gamers reacted with disappointment to yesterday’s unveiling of the Origen Xbox 360 contest, complaining bitterly that the announcement of the Europe-only contest wasn’t worth the hype that had built up over the preceding weeks. However, TeamXbox has managed to get its hands on an xml file containing the Origen rabbits’ dialog, which reveals that there are more stages to come in the Origen Xbox 360 contest.

As per our previous post, Stage 1 of the Origen Xbox 360 contest asks gamers to answer 3 randomly generated Xbox 360 trivia questions, then complete a sentence beginning with the words, “Xbox 360 is the best thing since…”.

The title of Stage 2 of the Origen Xbox 360 contest is “Lie your way to Origen”, and asks participants to “create a rumour about Origen that will whip gamers into a foaming frenzy.” Rumors can be up to 500 words in length and may also include an image. Creators of the two rumors judged to be the best will also win a trip to the North American Xbox 360 launch event.

Stage 3 of the Origen contest is called “Blast your way to Origen”, and will see European gamers take part in a Halo 2 tournament to determine the winners of two additional trips to the Origen Xbox 360 launch event. The Xbox Live Halo 2 tournament will run from October 11 to October 24, and whichever eligible gamer is at the top of the Halo 2 Double Team leader board will win a trip to Origen for themselves and their usual double team partner. Unfortunately for them, Portugese and Greek gamers will not be eligible to participate in this stage of the Origen contest.

The final stage will see one lucky European gamer win the Origen treasure: an Xbox 360 gaming setup worth 10,000 big ones! We’re not sure whether the price is given in dollars, francs, euros or pounds, but it certainly sounds as though it will be an impressive setup. According to the psychedelic rabbits, whoever is crowned Origen champion will walk away with the Origen treasure:

“OK. Now imagine being the first to play Xbox 360. Imagine being crowned Origen champion. Imagine walking away with the Origen treasure.”

“The lucky winner will get the Gaming Rig of their dreams. Under this sheet lie 10 big ones worth of kit so gorgeous, it makes me weep.”
