Electronic Arts unveils Xbox 360 launch titles

In the leadup to X05 this week in Amsterdam, Electronic Arts has revealed 5 game titles which will be available for the Xbox 360 at launch time.

EA Games’ Xbox 360 launch lineup will be on display at X05 in Amsterdam this week, and will consist of the following games:

• Need for Speed Most Wanted
• FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup
• NBA Live 06
• Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06
• Madden NFL 06

According to IGN, EA executive Gerhard Florin is looking forward to the X05 debut of the launch titles, saying,

“It’s a great moment for us to finally put this many EA Xbox 360 launch titles into the hands of enthusiastic gamers for them to really feel what makes these next generation videogames.

The visual richness and engaging gameplay are just two of the many reasons that gamers all over the world have something to look forward to this autumn with the Xbox 360 launch.”

In addition to the 5 launch titles, EA has also announced that “The Godfather,” “Battlefield 2: Modern Combat” and “Burnout Revenge” will be released for the Xbox 360 at a later date. According to WebProNews, Microsoft had hoped that “The Godfather” would be available at launch time, but EA has had to delay this game’s release.

Apparently, Microsoft is expecting “The Godfather” to boost sales for the Xbox 360 in much the same way “Halo” did for the Xbox.
