The microsoftlers go with the market... if Blu-ray wins, they're gonna put out a Blu-ray drive... but by that time the PS3 is already out with a Blu-ray drive built-in.. I just wonder what it's going to cost, I mean the Xbox 360-Blu-Ray drive... sure doesn't look cheap, and the Xbox 360 with a BD drive will definitely end up costing more than the PS3, no matter how expensive the PS3 will be...

Xbox wouldn't support Blu-ray because then they are indirectly supporting their major competitor. |

microsoft wont get a blu-ray drive... there really wont be any need...
i cant see there being a winner in tha battle for a while to come and in the end they will probably merge anyways..
i think a hddvd is fine to start with.. i mean they are after all in competigion with sony and the last thing they wanna do is support something every playstation console is gonna have!! |

| Very true. They proberly won't get blu-ray, and maybe it will be the verything that will help push their console to consumers - having a cheaper console than the competitors. |

| If the PS3 is going to cost $700 i can not see anyway they will beat Microsoft and Nintendo for that matter in market share. Sure they have a huge base to start on but i think you will struggle to find many people to buy a console for such an extreme price |

technicially Blu-ray is better than HD, it can hold more space and the picture quality is of higher definition, 1080p. However, it is also twice as expensive, and HD isn't that far behind.
However, I doubt I'll be getting the HD drive for my box. I buy consoles to play games, not watch movies. If I want an HD player I'll go out and buy one, no need for unnecessary wear and tear on my 360. |
