To be fair, the producer of the game Akari Uchida is well aware of any controversy the game may cause. Nothing that has been shown so far about the game is more exotic from games already out there, including the original Rumble Roses and Dead or Alive.

From an interview at Kotaku:

KOTAKU: “What did you think about Hot Coffee?”

UCHIDA: “Personally, I’m fine with it. But, we don’t want to include any erotic stuff as a hidden feature. We want to be very open about it, instead of hiding it. I’d love it if Rumble Roses was mentioned in Hillary Clinton’s hearings when they’re talking about the bad effects of video games.”

GI: With what we saw in the trailer, the character wearing the thing and all that, does that ever make you nervous as a developer? America and Japan are very different. Does that make you nervous to make it more risqué?

Uchida: I have no plans to tweak the game for other territory, it will be one version. Yes, the game does feature sexy babes, but it’s a peaceful game. There’s no blood, no force, no rape. Its just sexy girls wrestling. I’m sure there will be people that will get angry. But we just want people to relax so I am not that worried.
